Nicole: Just Like A Creative Spirit…

Introducing Nicole…

by Prue Dent

The creative spirit of Nicole Meijer is nestled among the green, rural pastures of North Motton, in north west Tasmania.  She is the creator of ‘just like nicole dj’.   Nicole is one of more than thirty Tasmanian designers who will retail wares at Under The Oak, a new handmade gallery and gift shop at Ulverstone.

Nicole has developed her work through experimentation and her love of fabric, papers, buttons, ribbons…  The list goes on!  Her desire to share her work with others inspired her to create beautiful gifts for friends and family, some of which include:

  • fabric purses
  • bags
  • brooches
  • toys
  • jewellery
  • paper gifts

Nicole is one who rarely uses a pattern.  She just starts cutting and before long a beautiful piece of work emerges!  For Nicole every day brings new inspiration. “I am so excited to have the opportunity to display and sell my work alongside so many other talented designers from around Tasmania at Under the Oak” says Nicole.

Under the Oak (at 103a Reibey St, Ulverstone) is set to open its doors on December 9th at 7pm for opening celebrations; and of course a shopping opportunity to purchase unique handmade Christmas gifts.  All sales at Under the Oak will be paid directly back to the designer, thus supporting Tasmanians and their families.

Gee thanks…

Your site and news gets better and better every time I receive a newsletter. The topics are so diverse and the photography superb. I am amazed at the number of Tasmanians, including new Tasmanians, who wish to share their knowledge with everyone. It is very generous of them. All the best.
