If you are arriving on the Spirit early in the morning, I can think of nothing better than a hearty, cooked breakfast in East Devonport followed by a short drive to what I consider one of the best National Parks in Tasmania.
For those visiting Tasmania for the first time the Narawntapu National Park fulfills the vision and expectation of unusual flora and fauna, rolling dunes and deserted beaches.
It is well worth spending time in the education centre before setting off across the lawn (past the grazing wombats) to the bird hide or over the dunes to the beach.
Did you know that a wombat’s poo is the shape of a dice? Check it out if you don’t believe me!
Roger!! You are an absolute wealth of information. Not only do you know lots about Tasmania, you are also an expert in wombat poo! Astounding.
